‘Gossip Girl’ star, Chace Crawford, never planned on going into acting!

The 24-year-old actor recently talked about how he wound up in the business, and how he was really a broadcast journalism major!

In fact, Crawford said he tried a ton of different things in school:

“I wasn’t, like, Johnny Theater in high school.  I was into sports.  I was good at math.  I was doing photography.  I had my hand in a lot of different cliques.”

He was enrolled at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California with the intention to go into broadcast journalism and business but, he said:

“I didn’t really like it that much. “

Too bad!  The HOLLYWIRE team totally could have seen him anchoring an entertainment show with our own (and very up & coming) hosts,  Katie Krause and Chelsea Briggs! Ha.

Chace eventually dropped out and signed on with an agent!  He is pretty aware of the fact his good-looks are what landed him his role as Nate Archibald on ‘Gossip Girl‘.  He said:

“I’m not ignorant to the fact that part of the reason why the show’s popular and part of the reason people want to see it is to be like, ‘Oh, novelty boy! Hot boy! Pretty boy!’.  And that’s all fine and good. It is what it is.”

Chace’s upcoming projects include ‘Footloose‘ and ‘Twelve’.
