Chuck vs. The Renewal
NBC confirmed today that Chuck will be returning for another season!Mediocre ratings and rumors of cancellation left fans worried about the fate of the show, but they can now take a huge sigh of relief thanks to NBC's announcement.
The show was picked up for another 13 episodes, which will begin airing in March 2010 after the Olympics.
Chuck addicts organized campaigns to convince the network to bring back the show, including the "Have a Heart - Renew Chuck" campaign, in which fans donated over $16,000 to the American Heart Association, a rally outside the NBC studios in Burbank, letters sent to NBC, and Chucktv.net's "Finale & a Footlong," which encouraged fans to eat at Subway, a major sponsor of Chuck, on the day of the season finale.
NBC/Universal co-chairman Ben Silverman said the fans are to thank for the series' renewal. "Both the fans of the shows that matter and the advertisers of the shows raised their hands to say, 'We need 'Chuck on the schedule.' We will send you Nerds. We will buy Subway $5 footlongs. We will do whatever it takes."
