Hills Stars are Raking in the Cash, Is it all Money for Nothing?
[/caption]It has been reported that the popular Hills kids that you love to hate are making serious cash for their drama! Newcomer to The Hills, but not reality TV, is Kristen Cavallari. Even though she has yet to debut, according to a person with knowledge of the show’s contracts, Cavallari is being paid $90,000 an episode, which is almost as much as Lauren Conrad was making: $125,000 an episode! That's $2.5 million a year. Conrad’s contract stipulated that no other co-star’s salary could match hers while she was on The Hills. Its not as if the other cast members were sobbing into their pillows at night. They were doing all right, turns out Audrina Patridge, Lauren “Lo” Bosworth, and Montag come close: $100,000 a show. As for Pratt, his rate is slightly less at $65,000 per show.

[/caption]This is because he only joined as a regular in 2008. Or the fact that he is a douche, its hard to say. Brody Jenner make a measly $45,000 an episode. Conrad wouldn't even get out bed for so little! Yeesh

[/caption]MTV would not comment on salaries, but The Hills creator and executive producer Adam DiVello said that the show’s cast “has a value to our fans. Kids think of [the cast] as their own friends... It’s been a long ride with these characters, and as you go along, you get more and more invested.”
Give me a break! How on earth can anyone justify paying these twits any amount of money for what they "do." It is absolutely ridiculous and an utter sham. Everyone knows the show is scripted and the beefed up salaries only prove it. That's not "reality" show money, that is sitcom money right there.
That, coupled with clothing lines, book deals and getting paid for public appearances, these talentless few are cashing in while they can. Who can blame them? Who knows how long it will last, because fame is fickle and if you have zero talent you will be left out in the cold.
