Jamie Lynn Spears and the fate of Zoey 101
Zoey 101, one of Nickelodeon's top rated shows, wraps up for its season finale on Friday.
The recent news of its star, Jamie Lynn Spears becoming pregnant, has the public wondering if the show will come back with another season and if so will Jamie Lynn still be the star?
So far Nickelodeon has been very supportive of Jamie Lynn and feels no need to cancel the show.
"If there hasn't been an outcry from advertisers and viewers yet, there probably won't be," an industry source said Tuesday.
"Canceling 'Zoey 101' would actually draw more attention to Spears' situation, especially with young children who are fans of the show and aren't aware of its star's personal life," says Dr. Robert Thompson, founding director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture at Syracuse University.
