Nip/Tuck Wraps It's Final Season
I was completely devastated when I found out that FX's hit show Nip/Tuck was canceled. The kick ass, mouth dropping, crazy graphic storyline show is about two plastic surgeons, Dr. Sean McNamara (Dylan Walsh) and Dr. Christian Troy (Julian McMahon), who give up their lives for beauty and youth. Now after five seasons and being on top for four of them, the scalpels are being put to rest on the100th and final episode of the series.
Apparently the show's end has been along time coming. If it were up to the cast, they would have ended when they were on the top of their game a couple of years ago.
"I feel we've reached a creative impasse with regards to what we can do with this story," said John Hensley, who played Matt McNamera, one of the most self-destructive characters ever created for TV. "I feel like it was, quite frankly, told a long time ago. I say that trying to be right-sized about this because I am very grateful for this opportunity. I just feel that we were a show that was very good and innovative at one point and we've gone the way of so many shows before us. Our moment has passed."
Thankfully for us Nip/Tuck fans, their are 19 episodes left which will more than likely be split into two seasons, but that won't unfortunately start until January of next year. So the series finale is set to air sometime in 2011.
I'm so sad about this show ending. I mean there is no show on TV that can touch the creativity, the sexiness, the grotesqueness, or the sickness that American's have for plastic surgery, quite like this show. It is truly unique, invigorating and mind blowing to watch.
