Patrick Dempsey Loves His Mother and Helps Cure Cancer

Those of you who are fans of Grey's Anatomy already know Patrick's character lovingly known as "McDreamy." Well, I guess Patrick Dempsey in real life is not only just hunky but just about as perfect as Dr. Shepard.



Patrick's mother, Amanda, has been through two all out brawls with ovarian cancer.

"Her cancer, first caught in stage IV in 1996, returned in 1999, and Dempsey and his family were there to give her crucial support. With the help of her son and his two older sisters, a grueling six-week course of chemotherapy, and comforting, distracting activities such as “gardening and planting, and remodeling the house, so we could look past the cancer,” Dempsey says, his mother managed to beat the dreaded disease again."

 

Luckily, she was able to beat the disease the second time around and Patrick was so thankful to the "Central Maine Medical Center" for providing his mother with the care she needed to conquer the disease, he donated $250,000 to the hospital. The hospital in turn named their new cancer wing "The Dempsey Center." Yep, he's a good husband, great son, and gives money to hospitals to help cure cancer. They don't get any Dreamier then that!!!
