For many Americans, Super Bowl Sunday is THE day for football, friends, food, drinks and fun. This is also one of the most highly anticipated days in advertising-for all. It is estimated that the Super Bowl attracts nearly 100 million viewers. which explains why there is always a buzz about what advertisers and companies will come up with next. Not only is it a big game for the players- imagine the competition going on between companies and their ads. And it's definitely a high price to pay...In 2008, the official price of a 30 second ad spot during the Super Bowl was $2.7 million.
Advertisers are already creating their own buzz.
Doritos has launched a huge campaign & contest online for the public. "Crash the Superbowl" gives the public a chance to enter their own commercial, for an opportunity to win an ad spot during the game and $1 million... not a bad deal.
This Sunday you can also expect to see some talking babies (Blackberry & Etrade), reasons why you should only have a dog for a pet (Pedigree), and plenty of hot women in tiny clothes!
Let the games begin!!!
