EXCLUSIVE! Glee Season One Recap: Top 5 'Gleetastic' Performances!
VIDEOS! Take a look back at 'Glee' Season 1 with HOLLYWIRE'S Top 5 'Gleetastic" Performances!
Last night 11 million people joined together to say ,"See you in the Fall!" to our favorite glee club. Glee has become mega successful because of its endearing cast of misfits, jocks and cheerleaders that find common ground in a love for glee club - but also because the cast itself is full of triple threats. It is a breath of fresh air that all the cast members can act, dance and sing; and the performances are the most memorable part of the show.
The characters, like the actors themselves, have made leaps with their dance choreography and tall bounds with their chemistry as a cohesive group -- all with each performance. We have been taken on quite a Journey this year and it has become obvious the music is really the heart of the show and our culture. The Glee soundtracks have had huge success, and you can be guaranteed to see the singles off the albums in the top 10 on iTunes the night the episodes air.
As we say, "See ya real soon!", here are HOLLYWIRE'S Top 5 'Gleetastic' Performances of Season 1!
#5 'Theatricality' Episode- In an attempt to get the glee club to become more theatrical on stage Mr. Schuster gives the team an assignment to take on Lady Gaga. Those are some BIG shoes to fill, right Kurt? Also have to mention the rendition of "Poker Face" featuring Idina Menzel from the same episode. Rachel has just discovered that Idina's character is her mother and now we can hear where she gets her talent from.
# 4 'The Power of Madonna' Episode- After Sue Sylvester commands that Principle Figgins blast Madonna thought the halls of McKinley High School, the glee club is inspired to use her songs to express themselves!
# 3 'Vitamin D' Episode- Mr. Schuster is worried New Directions are getting lazy, so to inspire some healthy competition among the team they have an assignment to create a mash-up! The winning number will be performed at Sectionals. Here are what both teams come up with!
# 2 'Hairography' Episode- After an intimidating scrimmage with Jane Addams Girls Choir, Mr. Schuester also invites the choir from the Haverbrook School for the Deaf. However while the McKinley kids go all out with flash dance moves and 'hairography', they join the Haverbrook team to sing 'Imagine'. It is refreshing to hear them get back to what they know best, how to just plain sing! This scene brought a tear to everyone's eyes (even the cast).
# 1 'Pilot' Episode- Back in the first episode, when they only had six members, the glee club found out Mr. Shuester would be leaving his job as a teacher to become an accountant, Finn decided they had to come together and show him how much they wanted him to stay and be their leader. They all joined together to perform "Don't Stop Believing" and America fell in love!
Very sad to see Glee end for the season but cannot wait to see what Ryan Murphy has in store for us this fall! Until then we always have the DVD set and numerous soundtracks to enjoy!
