The couple is suing MTV because they claim the network edited the footage to "cover up" what actually occurred that night.



TMZ reports, "The couple is suing MTV, 495 Productions, Viacom, Ronnie, and others for an unspecified amount."

The couple says they have raw footage to prove that Ronnie and Sammi were calling out homophobic slurs and insults to rile them up.

The couple DID, however, sign release forms given to them by the show's producers the night of the incident.  Josh and Kristin are now saying, "no way, bro!," to that, arguing that they were too intoxicated for the waivers to be valid.

Well, whether the couple wins or loses, the Jersey Shore guidos and guidettes are going nowhere--don't mess with MTV's moneymakers right?!
