Iglu & Hartly Take Over the Troubadour

We went to see Iglu & Hartly perform live Friday night at the Troubadour in Los Angeles, and not only did they not disappoint, but I think they pleasantly surprised everyone with their amazing energy and commanding stage presence!

Their music is a mixture of a few different styles, which is what makes it so fun to listen to!  It's like a combination of Phoenix, The Bee Gees, and The Beastie Boys (I know that sounds crazy but it's true.)

Their sound is really unique, and the band OWNS IT.  It's really cool to see a band that takes artistic risks without fear of failure.

At one point Iglu & Hartly actually stopped the show and asked if all of the girls in the audience would get on the guys' shoulders, for no reason at all other than they just thought it would be fun and would bring the energy up.  And guess what? The girls got on the guys shoulders and the energy went way up!  It brought a whole new vibe to the show because the band was really interacting with the audience.

It's hard not to like Iglu & Hartly when they're just so entertaining to watch onstage.

They jump around all over the place, almost falling into the crowd at times, knocking into eachother, sweating like crazy.  The great thing about them is that while they try extremely hard to please the crowd, it's not superficial; they really have fun when they're performing and you can tell!

Iglu (aka Jarvis Anderson) the lead singer, does a great job of interacting with specific individuals in the crowd and giving them a little one-on-one experience as he sings.

Hartly (aka Sam Martin) definitely jumps around the stage more than anyone, spitting his rhymes so fast you can't even begin to keep up.

I could go on and on but you have to see it for yourself to understand what Iglu & Hartly is really like.
