Lil Mama Crashes Jay-Z and Alicia Keys VMA Performance

Posted on September 13, 2009 - 11:02pm by alexa Jay-Z and Alicia Keys had an amazing performance at this year's MTV Video Music Awards with their new song "Empire State of Mind." However, the performance came with an unexpected and uninvited guest: Lil Mama, who is a judge on MTV's America's Next Best Dance Crew.  Lil Mama stormed the stage right at the end of the song and proceeded to act like she was a part of the performance, bobbing her head and posing next to Jay-Z and Alicia like they were all some sort of a trio.  At one point Jay-Z even says "You T-Paining right now" referring to one of his past performances where T-Pain jumped on stage with him unexpectedly.  But Lil Mama did not take the hint, and continued to crash the performance.

It was truly bizarre and neither Jay nor Alicia nor Lil Mama have commented on the awkward situation as of now.

Lil' Mama has issued an apology for crashing Jay-Z and Alicia's performance

She says: "I did not mean any disrespect towards Jay-Z or Alicia Keys," the statement reads. "I admire them and look up to them as role models. 'Empire State of Mind' had my emotions running high. In that moment I came up onstage to celebrate my two icons singing about NY."

Fabulous was one of the celebs having fun with the moment, chiming in on his Twitter page.
