Never Before Seen Footage of Michael Jackson's Hair Catching Fire During Pepsi Commercial!

Posted on July 15, 2009 - 10:16am by alexa Remember in 1984 when Michael Jackson was filming a Pepsi commercial and his hair caught on fire during filming? It was a big news story and it was talked about for years, but no one ever saw what really happened except those who were there to witness it.

The shoot was performed at the Shrine Auditorium in front of 3000 fans. The shot involved some pyrotechnics that shoot out from the stage. All was well until the sixth take.

It is so sad to watch the footage because when Michael's hair catches on fire he has no idea. By the time he gets to the bottom of the stairs he is pounced upon and sprayed down with the fire extinguisher.

He ended up suffering second and third-degree burns on his face and scalp. Many are speculating that this could have been the beginning of Michael’s long addiction to painkillers.
