President Barack Obama was a guest on The Late Show with David Letterman last night, being the first sitting president to appear on the show. The discussion was lively and showcased Obama’s playful behavior, amid the fact that he is Commander in Chief.
Dave asked Obama about Jimmy Carter’s allegations that racism was to blame for the recent criticis, Obama responded, “it’s important to realize that I was actually black before the election.”
The interview took on a serious tone when Dave asked about the war and health care. Obama said, “One of the things that you sign up for in politics is that folks yell at you…whenever a president tries to bring about significant changes, particularly during times of economic unease, there is a certain segment of the population that gets very riled up.” He continued, “People are just frustrated and angry right now because they have gotten a raw deal.”

That’s really cool that he made an appearance on a late night show. Good job Obama. We finally have a real person in the office, not just a politician.
