Kimmie Worley, co-partner of Chocolate Sun in Santa Monica, CA, is a shining example of what great skin looks like when a person stays out of the sun. Having vibrant, glowing skin, looking much younger than others her age, Kimmie stands in the charming boutique located on Bay Street, just a stone's throw from the beach, explaining how she and Chocolate Sun founder, Susie Hatton, went about creating this organic, natural sunless tan.

So many sunless products are mass created and developed with tons of chemicals, but Chocolate Sun is considered skin care, containing essential oils, plants and flowers, that doubles as a great tan. Each mix is customized by the staff to match each individual's tone - this results in a gorgeous bronze that is never orange.

I was worried about going in with no makeup or lotions because I looked less than stellar but also felt uncomfortably dry. After my application, my skin felt moisturized and I didn't need any makeup. People were complimenting me all day asking when I went on vacation.

A week later and the tan is definitely dying down. They have great booster products to take home and maintain that healthy glow so you should only need a re-tan every 2 weeks or so. Important to note - make sure you exfoliate BEFORE you get the treatment (they don't want you wearing the product away after application) and make sure you only use liquid soap to increase the duration of your sunless tanning product.

I had tried sunless tanning before and ended up covered in hives. Chocolate Sun is completely natural. I smelled great all day after the application and each time I looked in the mirror it was like a fun little surprise to see how dark I would be. While it is pretty expensive at $55 a session, I could see this being a great thing for the budget conscious to do right before a trip. Get the tan you want before you go then you can spend that extra time saved NOT laying out by reading a great book, sleeping under an umbrella and relaxing instead of baking under the heat and harmful rays.

I will definitely return to Chocolate Sun and I suggest you give them a try too!

Absolutely! I am allergic to Mystic Tan but had ZERO reaction - except a great tan!

One thing tho, use white towels you can bleach out because even though its not much, a little bit of the bronzer comes off. Not on clothes at all tho!
