Rising Star Bruno Mars Performs Live at Zanzibar (VIDEO)

When we went to the M.A.M.A Earth Michael Jackson Tribute event at Zanzibar this past Sunday, we didn't know what to expect, but we were beyond pleasantly surprised when we happened to catch up-and-coming superstar Bruno Mars's live performance!



The second Bruno and his band started playing, the entire crowd started moving.  His music is incredibly catchy without being one-bit generic, incorporating R&B, Rock and Soul all into one innovative sound. Whatever that "thing" is that people say makes you a superstar in Hollywood, Bruno has got "it."  He has that unexplainable star quality that makes him untouchable onstage, and compels you to try and watch him perform without blinking because you're never sure what he might do next.

Bruno will surely be compared to Justin Timberlake when he hits the high notes during his sweet serenades, but what is incomparable is the fresh, unmarred energy that Bruno, along with his best friend, singer Philip Lawrence, brings to the stage when he performs.  He's fun, he's jubilant, and he loves to put on a show.

Check out Bruno's tribute to Michael Jackson below, as he performs his own gorgeous rendition of "The Way You Make Me Feel," followed by an electric guitar-infused "I Want You Back." Bruno also performed some of his original music and other various non-Michael Jackson songs.  Each song demonstrates the signature sound he has developed, starting with his ballad "Innocent" which he somehow transitions into a short version of Kanye West's "Love Lockdown" at about the 1:40 mark.  He then sang an upbeat, feel-good song that I'm assuming was titled "Give You The World," which he then followed up with Little Richard's "Long Tall Sally."
