Update: Former American Idol Contestant Hit, Killed by Car
[/caption]I am sure that everyone remembers the colorful American Idol contestant Alexis Cohen. If not, then click the video below to refresh your memory. They did a whole 'get to know you' piece on her. When I watched at home, I remember thinking that it was mean. Just because the producers had to know that the judges were not going to let her get through to Hollywood, you could really tell they were just exploiting her.
Alexis Cohen, 25, was struck by a car in Seaside Heights, New Jersey at 4am Sunday morning. The worst part is that she was found dead, she was literally just lying in the street for who knows how long before some passersby saw her and called 911. Deputy Chief Michael Mohel of the Ocean County Prosecutors Office said she was taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River, N.J., where she was pronounced dead around 6:35 a.m. Mohel says an autopsy shows she suffered chest, head and abdominal injuries. Investigators are seeking more information about the collision. The best they can hope for is that someone comes forward regarding the accident, either a witness or the actual driver themselves.
She was best known for flipping out after her audition and going on a rather odd tirade about Simon Cowell. It was T.V. gold! I personally think that they weren't even that mean to her, Simon has been worse.
Bet the people at Idol feel like jerks now that she is gone.
After her appearance aired, she was asked to come on the morning talk show circuit and did "Live with Regis and Kelly," "The View" and "Extra."
